JAMB UTME Subject Combination

In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Actuarial Science under the Faculty of Administration in the institutions listed above are:

Mathematics, Economics and one other subject.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i)UNILAG accepts Economics, Mathematics and any Science, Social Science or Arts subject.

(ii) UNIJOS requires Mathematics and any other two (2) subjects from Principles of Accounts, Commerce, Business Methods, Statistics, Government or Economics.

O’Level Requirements for UTME Candidates

To apply for Actuarial Scienceas a UTME candidate, you require: Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics and Economics plus any other two relevant subjects.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) UNILAG requires two other relevant subjects in Science or Social Science obtained at one sitting.

(ii) UNIUYO accepts CRK/Accounts/Commerce as the third subject.

(iii) UNIJOS requires credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any three subjects from Principles of Accounts, Commerce, Business Methods, Statistics, Government or Economics.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

To apply for Actuarial Science as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: Two ‘A’ level passes to include English Language and Mathematics.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) UNIJOS accepts:
a) Passes at Advanced Level GCE, IJMB or an approved equivalent examination in Accounting, Business Management or Economics.
b) Holders of the following qualifications may also be considered for admission into 200 level: National Diploma (ND) in Accounting, Financial Studies, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, Insurance or any other business course with a pass at not less than Lower Credit from any recognized Institutions (Polytechnic, Technical Institutions, e.t.c.).

(ii) UNILAG accepts very good passes in three JUPEB/A-LEVEL subjects: Economics and any other two (2) subjects from Mathematics, Accounting, Business Studies/Management, and Government.
