JAMB UTME Subject Combination

In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Sociology and Anthropology under the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in the institutions listed above are:

Economics, Government, and any one of the following: History, Geography, Literature in English, French, IRK, Hausa.

O’Level Requirements for UTME Candidates

To apply for Sociology and Anthropology as a UTME candidate, you require: Five O/level Credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) including English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any two of Arts or Social Sciences (History, Civics or Geography in not more than two sittings).

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

To apply for Sociology and Anthropology as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: (i)Two A level passes in Government, Sociology, Economics,Geography, Civics, History and any other: Hausa, and Islamic Studies, IJMB with nine points in the above subjects.

(ii)A recognised first Degree from any Nigerian or Foreign University.
