In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Portuguese under the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in the institutions listed above are:
French and any two other Arts/Social subjects.
O’Level Requirements for UTME Candidates
To apply for Portuguese as a UTME candidate, you require: Five SSCE credit passes to include French, English Language and any three other subjects.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) OAU – credit pass in German is not compulsory
Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates
To apply for Portuguese as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: Two ‘A’ level passes including the Foreign Language(s) where applicable.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) OAU – the programme includes one year at the French Village, Badagry (for French candidates), Germany (for German candidates) and Brazil (for Portuguese candidates).
