JAMB UTME Subject Combination

In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Performing Arts under the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in the institutions listed above are:

Literature in English and two other relevant subjects..

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) UNILORIN – require another Arts subject plus any Arts or Social Science subject. UNILORIN accepts Science subject.

(ii) OOU requires literature in English and two other relevant subjects.

O’Level Requirements for UTME Candidates

To apply for Performing Arts as a UTME candidate, you require: Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language and Arts subjects.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) KWASU require credit pass in Literature-in-English.

(ii) UNILORIN accept five ‘O’ level credit passes to include English Language and Literature-in-English plus any other Arts/Social Science subjects.

(iii) UNILORIN accepts ABRSM Grade V and above (Music Theory) or equivalent certificate in lieu of credit pass in Literature in English.

(iv) OOU requires five ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Literature in English and Arts subjects.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

To apply for Performing Arts as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: Two ‘A’ level passes in Arts, Social Science or Science subjects.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) UNILORIN requires A/L candidates to pass English and Literature in English at credit level.

(ii) UNILORIN – ‘O’ level credit pass in Literature-in-English is not required for NCE holders.

(iii) OOU accepts two ‘A’ level passes in Arts, Social Sciences or Social Sciences or Sciences subjects and accepts also ND (Upper Credit) Diploma and NCE (Merit) in Theater/Performing/creative/Communication/Music/Fine and Applied Arts and other relevant areas from recognised Institution.

(iv) KWASU accepts:
a) 2 A’ Level in Arts and 1 social Science subject.
b) ND upper credit in visual or Theatre Arts. NCE (merit) in English language, Eng. Lit. and any Arts subject.
c) NCE (Merit) in music and any other Arts subject.

DIRECT ENTRY AND UTME:

(i) OOU will conduct audition test before selection.
