JAMB UTME Subject Combination

In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Linguistics and African Languages under the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in the institutions listed above are:

Igbo and two subjects from Arts and social Sciences.

O’Level Requirements for UTME Candidates

To apply for Linguistics and African Languages as a UTME candidate, you require: Five SSCE credit passes to include Igbo, English Language and any other Arts subject.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) OAU requires five credit passes in English language, one Arts subject and three other subjects from Sciences, Social Sciences or Arts.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

To apply for Linguistics and African Languages as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: (i) Two ‘A’ level passes in Igbo and one Arts/Social Science subject.

(ii) NCE in Igbo and one Arts subject.
