JAMB UTME Subject Combination
In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Mass Communication under the Faculty of Administration in the institutions listed above are:
Literature in English, Economics and Government.
O’Level Requirements for UTME Candidates
To apply for Mass Communicationas a UTME candidate, you require: Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Literature in English and Government plus at least a pass in Mathematics.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) RSUST requires credits in Mathematics, Economics and any other 3 subjects.
(ii) ESUT requires a credit in Economics and accepts History or Government.
(iii) WELLSPRING accepts a pass in Mathematics provided the candidate has a total of five credits including English language, Government/History, and Literature.
(iv) CRUTECH requires credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Literature in English, Mathematics, Government and any other Social Science or Arts subjects.
Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates
To apply for Mass Communication as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: Two ‘A’ level passes in Literature in English, Economics or Government.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) RSUST accepts holders of the following qualifications for year II:-
(a) ND (Upper) in relevant fields or a Degree/HND not relevant to the field for admissions to 200 level;
(b) A Degree/HND relevant to the field for admissions to 300 level;
(ii) CRUTECH, ESUT and BSU accept ND Upper Credit or HND in Mass Communication in relevant field from any recognized institution. Also requires Direct Entry applicants to possess UTME requirements.
(iii) UNILORIN does not admit ‘A’ student into its Mass Communication but accepts National Diploma Upper Credit in Mass Communication.
(iv) WELLSPRING accepts two A’ level passes (including NABTEB), as well as National Diploma in Mass Communication from recognized institutions.
