JAMB UTME Subject Combination
In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Computer Engineering under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Technology in the institutions listed above are:
Mathematics,
Physics,
Chemistry/Technical Drawing.
O’Level Requirements for UTME Candidates
To apply for Computer Engineering as a UTME candidate, you require: Mathematics,
Physics and
Chemistry and
any two subjects from:
Biology/Agricultural Science
Technical Drawing,
Basic Electronics/Basic Electricity,
Auto Mechanics,
Metal Work,
Woodwork (for Civil Engineering Tech.),
Further Mathematics
English Language,
Geography,
Economics/Commerce.
For Marine Engineering and Industrial Safety and Environmental Engineering: a pass in Biology is required.
At least a credit pass in English Language is required
Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates
To apply for Computer Engineering as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: (i) OFFA-POLY does not accept Agric. Sci. and Food and Nutrition.
(ii) ILARO-POLY requires credit pass in English Language.
(iii) YABATECH – Same as in Electrical/Electronics.
(iv) PLA-POLY requires O/L credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any one from Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Sci.
(v) RUGIPO accepts a pass in English Language.
(vi) EDE-POLY accept fifth subject chosen from Biology/Agriculture and Social Science.
(vii) NEKEDE-POLY and IBADAN-POLY require at least a Pass in English Language.
(viii) ILARO-POLY requires a credit pass in English Language.
(ix) NEKEDE-POLY requires Chemistry instead of Technical Drawing for UTME Subjects.
(x) HUSSAINI-POLY – requires credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any two Science subjects.
(xi) FIDEI-POLY requires five O/L credit passes at not more than two sittings in any of these examination bodies: WAEC, NECO, and NABTEB. The credits must include Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any two from, Biology/Agricultural Science, Information Communication Technology, Technical Drawing, Basic Electronics/Basic Electricity, Auto Mechanics, Statistics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry, and Economics/Commerce. A pass in English Language is accepted.
(xii) IBADAN-POLY does not accept a Pass in English Language
