JAMB UTME Subject Combination

In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Portuguese / English under the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in the institutions listed above are:

Five SSCE credit passes including French and English Language plus at least one other Arts subject.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) LASU require English Language and any three other subjects.

O’Level Requirements for UTME Candidates

To apply for Portugues / English as a UTME candidate, you require: Five SSCE credit passes including French and English Language plus at least one other Arts subject.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) LASU – French is not compulsory. Students at third year second semester are to undergo six-month, year “abroad programme” in Portugal, Brazil or Portuguese speaking country.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

To apply for Portugues / English as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: French and any other two subjects from Arts and Social Sciences.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) LASU – Students at third year second semester are to undergo six-month, year “abroad programme” in Portugal, Brazil or Portuguese speaking country.
